2009 SEASON REVIEW
The 2009 racing program
was a season of growth and development for
Team Motorkars. The German Touring Series (GTS), a previously
independent group of racers, was adopted into the National Auto
Sport Association (NASA) family. Word spread fast of the series
and it’s minimal requirements for car classification and legality.
This new influx of participants created large fields of
“gentlemen” racers on the track
with over 50 cars all at the same time. This made for some great
competition with the drivers having to follow the GTS13/13 rule.
The Motorkars Audi turbo Quattro ran flawlessly
throughout the entire racing season as it was put through the
paces until the last race. Our last race of the season was ended
prematurely due to a left front shock failure at Gingerman racetrack.
After all the dust had settled and the racekar put away for
winter we were delighted to finish in 3rd place with
795 points in class GTS2 for the 2009 season. The excitement
and anticipation of the 2010 racing season is in the air.
Team Motorkars is working diligently to prepare the racekar
and ready all of the equipment for what looks to be a season
of fierce and fast competition. We accept the challenge and
hope to see everyone at the track. |
