Green Company

A Green Company

Motorkars is proud to state that we have been a green company for over 20 years. Our president's birthday is Earth Day so it should come as no surprise the effort we make to be kind to our dear Mother Earth. Customers are curious what happens to their old parts, fluids and tires. We have been recycling old tires, batteries, engine oil, brake fluid, anti-freeze, gasoline and various metals since 1991. We also recycle all of the cardboard, bubble wrap, plastic jugs & bags and packing that new parts come in. We also use only water based solvents to clean parts and it is also recycled every 8 weeks. We want to ensure the next generation of car owners and Motorkars customers will enjoy the same things we have enjoyed for so many years.

What's in a Name?

Here are some of the ways people have misspelled our company name, which could never happen on our web pages.
  • Mootorkars - No we will not milk your cow!
  • Motokars - Off-roading is not where we want to go!
  • Mortarkars - We'll leave the pyrotechnics to the experts!
  • Motorwerks - Already being used by BMW®
  • Motorkrafts - Sounds like something Martha Stewart should be driving.
  • Motor Kars - One word please!
  • Motorcars - How ordinary!

MotorKars Marker

Motorkars Stone Marker

The engraved Motorkars stone in the front of the shop is a stone from the old Ohio Penitentiary wall. The penitentiary was built in 1834 and was located only several miles from where Motorkars now stands. We purchased the stone from the State when the pen was torn down in 2000 to make way for the development of the Arena District. We had it engraved with the Motorkars name as a reference point for our customers.

Der Bierwagen

We've had some unusual projects in our time, but der Bierwagen is about as unusual as it gets. Jason Davis from Sierra Nevada Brewing asked us to partially restore the 1982 Vanagon to be towed, not driven, as a trailer type beer wagon. It has no drive train or even interior. It will, however, be an excellent beer dispensing machine from the taps visible on the "driver" side.

Das Otto

Das Otto

The latest addition to the Motorkars family is our new company watchdog Otto. Otto is constructed of broken and worn out parts from several of our customer's cars. He is standing guard in the flowerbed next to the front entry door.
